I will record my tasting comments on the wines I drink and any wine-related news that catches my attention.
María de la Mora @delamoralasa
How I enjoyed that weekend in Valle de Bravo with my friends. I didn’t take off my bathing suit for two days, I slept in it. I didn’t count them, but there were surely more than 100 spicy mangos that preceded the 8 manchego cheese quesadillas on Christmas Eve and that, of course, gave rise to about 20 Frinuís (who invented them? What a mother!) combined with quite a few swarms of chocolate of all shades. Of course, all this was sprinkled with about five? bottles of Whispering Angel. A tremendous fan that served as a prelude to the most profound dissertations on a phrase, one in particular, by Pablo Alborán, which we listened to attentively, and an insistent but fruitless attempt to imitate the choreography of that song by Karol G that my friend’s daughter loves.
Rosé Bay at The Boathouse Rose Bay
The iconic waterfront venue is transforming into a Whispering Angel Beach Club for spring.
By Orlaith Costello
Overview Spring has sprung, and to celebrate, The Boathouse Rose Bay is launching Rosé Bay, a month-long rosé experience from October 1 until November 10 together with Whispering Angel. This iconic waterfront spot will be transformed into a rosé lover’s paradise, blending relaxed coastal vibes with a touch of European summer style thrown in for fun. Celebrations kick off with the Whispering Angel Car Wash (be on the lookout from October 1 for its start date on The Boathouse Rose Bay’s socials). Guests can enjoy “rosé washes” by the “rosé baes” out front of the beachside locale and receive rosé tokens to use at the Whispering Angel Beach Club that’s taking over the lower deck of The Boathouse Rose Bay. The Whispering Angel Beach Club is the epicentre of the celebrations. DJs will be spinning, and rosé will be flowing all month long. Enjoy tasty snacks as you toast to stunning views across Rose Bay with a glass of your favourite pink drink. The club is open every Sunday from 4–8pm from October 6 until November 3 — and entry is free.
Every Sunday during Rosé Bay, pink drink lovers can indulge in a fabulous bottomless three-course brunch with rosé, of course. This is followed by an afterparty at the Whispering Angel Beach Club with live DJs. Stick around for epic sunset views across the water. The waterfront watering hole is also giving out loyalty cards to attendees all month long. If you buy five bottles of rosé, the sixth bottle will be on The Boathouse, ideal if you’re planning a couple of weekend sessions with your fellow rosé lovers.

There’s just something magical about combining the spooky with a touch of glam, and this year I’m all about adding a vibrant pop of pink to the mix. I love how the eerie and elegant come together—glittering gold accents, glowing pink hues, and a sprinkle of creepy. It’s the perfect vibe for a fun “ghouls night” party where chic meets spooky, and I get to indulge in all the hauntingly fabulous fun!

Rosé wine trend hits Cyprus: Local demand and imports soar
The heart of Rosé wine production and global consumption
By Anna Polyviou
Light and delicate, with aromas of flowers and fruits, these are just a few ways to describe Rosé Provence wines, which have recently become a global trend.
Cyprus has also embraced the trend, with suppliers importing Rosé wines from Provence and local producers making their own versions.
The Photos Photiades Group imports Rosé wines from Provence into Cyprus, with Whispering Angel being among the most popular. This Rosé, from Chateau d’Esclans, is known for its distinctive aromas of fruits and flowers. In the United States, Whispering Angel is the best-selling French wine. According to Mr. Minas Minas of Photos Photiades Group, there is indeed a growing trend in Rosé wines, with sales continuing to rise.
The Rosé wine market is expected to grow significantly in the coming years, driven by the expansion of winemaking and retail. Although Rosé originated in Europe, it has become widely popular across the globe. The increasing number of new Rosé wines and the expansion of existing ones into new markets are contributing to the growth of the winemaking industry, which is expected to see a rise in global production.
According to Zion Market Research, the global market for Rosé wine is projected to grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of around 5.50% from 2024 to 2032.
During the summer, Rosé wine consumption increases significantly. According to Majestic, the UK’s largest wine retailer, when temperatures reach or exceed 26°C, Rosé sales surpass those of red and white wines.
In the summer of 2022, the company sold one bottle every 12 seconds, reinforcing Rosé’s status as the ultimate summer wine.
The heart of Rosé
Provence, a region in southeastern France, is often considered the heart of Rosé wines, with a climate ideal for grape cultivation. France produces 35% of the world’s Rosé, making it the leading global producer and top consumer, with one-third of all Rosé wine consumed domestically. Following France, H.P.P. accounts for 20% of global consumption. The global popularity of Provence Rosé has led to a remarkable 500% increase in exports over the past 15 years.
Travel and tourism have played a significant role in the worldwide spread of Provence Rosé, as France remains one of the top tourist destinations. Social media, along with major festivals and glamorous events like the Cannes Film Festival, have further elevated the status of Provence Rosé, making it synonymous with elegance and refinement. Another key factor in its popularity is its versatility—Provence Rosé pairs well with a wide range of cuisines and dishes.
As it stands, more producers and suppliers, both in Cyprus and abroad, are entering the winemaking market, with the variety of products continually expanding.
